Amazing art work.!
Hey,
I’m an art student at ringling college of art and design.
I have a perspective drawing assignment to draw a city in one point perspective, so I was looking for cities done in one point when I saw your city drawing of gothem. It’s very well done, but what drew me to it was the narrowness of the street. How do you map out your city when you first start a drawing like that?
Thanks! I wish I could give you something specific, but it was pretty arbitrary . I tend to figure out the frame size and then I draw out the street and make sure there will be enough content (buildings) in the frame on either side of the street. drawing out giant rectangular shapes for the tall buildings helps me get a good idea before getting into the detail, like the windows and brick. work front to back. good luck!
Also I had the vanishing point in bottom frame and a little to the right so it wasn’t dead center in the shot and I did a lot of research on Gothem. Mostly looked at photos from Batman movies and concept art in books.
hey, men! your drawings were great! im inspired with these works and i admire it so much.. i’m a senior high student.. planning to take some architectural or art courses..
great drawings!
is your gothem city a one point perspective?
I just started taking art so it’s hard for me to tell
